MEET OUR DIRECTOR & ADVISORY TEAM

Brendon joined the Army Reserve in 1999 and graduated from the Royal Military College (Duntroon) in 2002. He was commissioned and was allocated to the Corps of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and completed several postings through to 2007, when he transferred into the Australian Regular Army. In 2007 he deployed Iraq and Afghanistan in the Middle.

In 2008, Brendon commenced his Electrical Engineering studies at RMIT and worked concurrently for Army Headquarters in developing maintenance audit tools for use across Defence.

In 2012, he was the lead engineer at the 1st Brigade when he was required to commence the role of Divisional Quartermaster (DQ) for a period of six months. This saw him support the deployment of 4000 personnel on both international and domestic operations.

Two years later, he commenced work at the Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) as the Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) on the ASLAV armoured vehicle fleet before being appointed to Sub Unit Command as Officer Commanding the Electrical and Electronic Systems Wing, Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (ASEME). This demanding and challenging role saw him responsible for the leadership, care and development of over 160 soldiers and 40 staff as they prepared for their careers as soldiers and tradespersons in the Australian Army.

As a well-rounded and proven managerial-leader, Brendon offers highly developed technical, leadership and innovation skills that have been crafted and refined over a broad range of key appointments and experiences across the Australian Defence Organisation.

On a personal level, he values authenticity, courage, loyalty, respect and diversity, and whether it’s leading large teams or small groups, and uses these personal values to guide, motivate and inspire those around him. He is also an approachable, passionate and authentic person who enthusiastically promotes a harmonious and inclusive workplace.

These values and characteristics form the core values of Widecrest; these qualities underpin our corporate strategy and provide a solid foundation to guide our interactions and work we do.
